Growing a Sustainable Community

0

At Grounded Enterprises we welcome everyone, no experience needed. We recognise everyone has something to offer and if you just want to come and enjoy our beautiful spaces, you are welcome to do that too. We grow, we gather, we eat together. Here are some of the ways you can join in…

Volunteering

Our food project wouldn’t function without the effort of our brilliant volunteers.

We have 3 levels of volunteering:

Grounded Helpers – Drop in whenever we are open and get stuck in on an ad-hoc basis.

Grounded Growers – Our committed regular volunteers who give one or two sessions a week. In season, we aim to thank our volunteers with fresh produce from the gardens.

Grounded Facilitators – Our long- term volunteers who want to have a deeper involvement with us. This could include leading sessions, helping with decision making, specific responsibility, like looking after watering or chickens, or sitting on the steering group or starting an enterprise of their own.

Where, When, How?

Monday, Wednesday and Fridays we work in Boscombe usually from 9.15am-1.00pm.

We work across 4 sites in the Boscombe area. But usually meet at The Secret Garden first. See out find us page for details and contact info.

You can also sign up to help us keep chickens and bee's !!

We will be adding training dates and community meals at weekends throughout the year, so check our facebook page to keep updated.

Contact info@groundedenterprises.org for up to date volunteering information.

Other Volunteering Opportunities

We also offer volunteering days for Community groups and Corporate organisations to come and work with us on specific projects and tasks. We would love to hear from local businesses about how you can support us.

Good Gym is a local group who have helped, they meet in town, run to a site and get stuck in for a 45 minute chore and run back again… getting fit and feeling good.

JP Morgan and Wessex Water have been to help too bringing large groups and contributing financially to a specific task like poly tunnel or shed building.

Training and Events

Over the year we run a series of events to train people and gather the community together.

We host:

Food growing skills training days,
Family food sessions such as ‘Grow your own pizza’
Fun, friendly community gatherings around the campfire or a BBQ
